Margautama Nusantara and Jasa Marga Hold a Purchase Ceremony 40% Share Ownership of PT Jasamarga Jalanlayang Cikampek

President Director of Nusantara Infrastructure, Ramdani Basri stated, “The entire purchase transaction process of Mohamed Bin Zayed (MBZ) Elevated Toll Road has been completed by implementing Good Corporate (GCG) principles available. The Company received support and full trust from stakeholders, so that the whole process can run smooth according to the target”.
Ramdani added "This corporate action is also a concrete form of cooperation and good synergy between the government and the private sector in accordance with the spirit of Indonesia Incorporated which has been aspired for a long time, so that with this concrete realization, the private sector could be more involved in various strategic projects in the sustainable infrastructure sector".
As we know, the MBZ Elevated Toll is one of the strategic toll roads in Indonesia which plays an important role in the Trans Java Toll Road network with traffic volumes that continue to grow from year to year. On October 10th 2022, MUN along with Jasa Marga had signed the Sales Purchase Agreement (SPA).
In his speech video, Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR), Basuki Hadimuljono said, “Congratulations and thanks to PT Margautama Nusantara for completing the purchase of 40% shares of the MBZ Elevated Toll, as a solution in unraveling the traffic congestion on the Jakarta-Cikampek route which is in the most densely populated areas, industrial areas and the favorite route to the East and JABODETABEK. The asset recycling in the toll road sector really helped to create resources, my financial source to build longer toll roads in other areas. I hope that this activity would encourage to other financials in order to make the asset recycling program successful in the toll road sector throughout Indonesia”.
Meanwhile, President Directior of Jasa Marga Subakti Syukur explained, the divestment of Jasa Marga's share ownership in PT JJC is a continuation of the Asset Recycling Program as part of the corporate strategy to balance the growth and sustainability of the Company's business and in order to optimize the Company's business portfolio.
“The MBZ Elevated Toll Road has made a good contribution to Jasa Marga in developing other toll roads in Indonesia. The operation of the MBZ Elevated Toll Road which is integrated with the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road also provides optimal benefits in distributing traffic volume in the Jakarta-Cikampek segment," said Subakti.
Subakti also congratulated PT Margautama Nusantara which has now become a strategic partner of Jasa Marga and PT Ranggi Sugiron Perkasa in the operation of the MBZ Elevated Toll Road to realize professional, efficient and sustainable toll road operations, as well as prioritizing the best service to road users.
PT JJC is a Toll Road Business Entity managing the 38 KM MBZ Elevated Toll Road which has been in operation since 2019 with concession rights for 45 years (2017 to 2062). The MBZ Elevated Toll Road stretches from the Cikunir to West Karawang section which is an alternative route for long-distance toll road users that also distributes the traffic volume of the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road.
With the operations of the MBZ Elevated Toll Road in an integrated manner, the potential density of the Jakarta-Cikampek route can be distributed effectively and efficiently, and increase the traffic flow on this route which is currently the main route for the Jakarta area to the east and vice versa.
