Discussed at this discussion that the Government should give greater opportunities to the private sector in working on infrastructure projects. The needs of infrastructure that reached USD 403 billion, the government only allocates USD 280 billion, including central government, local, and state. Difference in the amount of USD 123 billion is what ultimately lead to gap. Thus we should encourage the cooperation between governments and the private sector to fill the funding gap in the infrastructure sector.
Ramdani Basri explained that it will not be enough, although all banks in Indonesia are collected to build a 3,000 kilometers of toll road. It must be completely open opportunities to establish a strategic partnership with outside parties including the Islamic syariah-based financing.
Ramdani said that the infrastructure is the most survival business when the economy is in slowing move. As the beneficiary is the people, whether infrastructure built by the government or private sector.
