PT Margautama Nusantara (MUN) as a holding company of PT Bosowa Marga Nusantara (BMN) and PT Jalan Tol Seksi Empat (JTSE) in a cooperation with YDT Technology International Co conduct an RFID technology (Radio Frequency Identification) experiment for September 22, 2015 – October 6, 2015 at the Tollbooth 3, Tamalanrea Gate.

RFID is a technology to help transaction of toll users automatically without prepaid card such as Flazz, E-Toll, and many more. RFID Technology does not need the toll user to stop at the toll gate for manual transaction or to tap a prepaid card.

RFID Technology is a system that consists of two components, there are tag and reader. Tag will be tapped on the car and reader will be placed at the toll gate. The identification process is when the car tapped by the tag passing the toll gate and the reader will read the information that is inserted in the tag through electromagnetic wave to identify with no physical connection. The received data of reader will be transmitted to database and processed until the Auto-debit process successful, then the gate will be opened and the receipt form of transaction evidence will come out.

RFID system shall work accurately if the tag is in 10 cm maximum distance from the reader and be able to process a transaction for maximum 1 second. If the system applied in the BMN and JTSE toll gate ensure there will no toll payment queue, especially in the Tamalanrea and Parangloe toll gate that are congested toll gate.
